Bill Penney
President & CEO

On May 21st, Marine Bank President and CEO Bill Penney will celebrate his 68th birthday by biking 68 miles while raising awareness and donations for Brevard Zoo's Our Legacy Campaign to build an Aquarium and Conservation Center in Port Canaveral.

Sitting on 14 acres of shoreline at Port Canaveral, the Aquarium will capture the beauty and benefits of natural Florida while serving as a regional conservation hub with an emphasis on restoring the Indian River Lagoon and our coastal estuary.  Learn More

Bill invites you to commemorate his 68th birthday by donating $1 per mile or $68, although donations of any size are welcome and appreciated.

The proposed route has Bill starting at Marine Bank's Fort Pierce banking center heading north to the Vero US 1, Vero Beachside, Sebastian, and Melbourne banking centers before finishing at the Brevard Zoo.  There will be food, fun, photo opportunities and giveaways at each stop so the public is encouraged to come out and cheer him on.  Please note that if winds are from the north, the route will be reversed. Be sure to check our Facebook and/or LinkedIn pages for route updates and fundraising progress.

FYI: This will not be the first time Bill Penney has tested his physical endurance and raised funds on his birthday. In 2021, he created the “65 Ride to Remember,” a 65-mile bike trek which raised almost $12,000 to benefit the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of Indian River County. At 55, he rollerbladed 55 miles and raised $10,500 for the Red Cross.  On his 50th birthday, he rollerbladed 50 miles and raised $6,500 for the United Way of Indian River County.
